能源消费与科技创新对皮革业发展的作用机制研究

Study on the Impact Mechanism of Energy Consumption and Technology Innovation on the Development of Leather Industry

摘要: 皮革业发展与市场环境、环保规制、能源消费和科技投入等因素密切相关。以2001~2020年全国29个省份为例,构建以皮革业科技创新为调节变量的实证研究模型,探究能源消费、科技创新、皮革业发展三者间的作用机制。研究结果表明,能源消费与科技创新对皮革业名义发展和实际发展均有正向影响,科技创新同时发挥显著调节效应,这一结论在进行稳健性检验后依然成立。进一步分析发现,科技创新调节效应在东部地区表现更为显著。为此,在环境规制背景下,高能耗粗放型生产方式面临制约,要充分认识科技创新对促进皮革业发展的重要作用,引导皮革行业发展的良性循环。

Abstract: The development of leather industry is closely associated to market environment, environmental protection regulations, energy consumption, and scientific and technology investment. For exploring the impact mechanism of energy consumption and technology innovation on the development of leather industry, the paper set up a research model with technology innovation as the variable factor by analyzing the data of 29 provinces in China from 2001 to 2020. Results indicated that energy consumption and technology innovation played a positive role on the nominal and actual development of leather industry. Meanwhile, technology innovation had a significant regulating effect on the development of leather industry. This conclusion was still verified to be valid after the robustness checking. Additional research revealed that the regulating effect of technology innovation was more outstanding in the eastern region. As a result, with the increasing stringent environmental regulations in place, leather manufacturers with high energy consumption and extensive production are facing challenges. It is necessary to fully understand the important role of technology innovation in driving the development of leather industry and guide the virtuous circle of the development of leather industry.
