Abstract: In order to explore the relationship between the plantar pressure in heel zone and age, the difference and change characteristic of heel pressure in different age groups were analyzed. In this study, we used the Footscan plantar pressure system and randomly selected 100 healthy adult males with normal feet as the experimental objects. The experimental samples were divided into 4 groups with 25 persons at the age of 20-29 years old, 30-39 years old, 40-49 years old and 50-59 years old, respectively. The peak pressure, effective contact area and effective contact time in the heel zone were measured and analyzed. Results showed that, for the peak pressure in the heel, the difference within the same group was not significant (P > 0.05) and showed the relative stability. The difference of peak pressure and effective contact area in heel among subjects with different ages was significant (P <0.05), and the peak pressure in heel gradually decreased with age, effective contact area increased, and effective contact time extended. The experimental results can also provide reference for the design and development of the internal and external heel structure for different types of shoes at different ages.
