Abstract: The course of leather production practice is not only one of the core courses of the light chemical engineering major (specialized in leather), but also a highly practical course. This paper put forward an online and offline blended teaching model combined with the modern information-based teaching methods to solve the problem of low enthusiasm in traditional teaching of leather production practice course. The teaching model included the online self-study before class, interactive teaching in class/offline production practice, and the offline review after class. Teaching results showed that the blended teaching method could realize the transformation from students’ passive learning to teacher-student interaction and students’ active learning, which was conductive to cultivating students' independent thinking ability and practical operation ability. The present exploration provides a teaching reference for the subsequent teaching of this course and other practical courses.
