Abstract: The informatization and digitalization are of great significance to the transformation and upgrading of Chinese traditional leather industry, as well as its high-quality development. In this paper, the severe situation for our leather industry facing the digital economy is analyzed and summarized. And Industrial Internet is regarded as the gate to the transformation and upgrading of traditional industry. Nowadays, our government is offering reliable policy guarantees and new digital infrastructure to promote the development of our industry, which is a challenge but more importantly a rare opportunity or advantage. Also, we propose some potential approaches to the informatization and digital construction for leather enterprises, and the importance of setting up a public service cloud platform for leather industry chain, aiming to provide feasible strategies and implementations for Chinese leather industry.
