Solid-liquid Adsorption Isotherm Model and Thermodynamic Parameter Calculation
-
Abstract
The adsorption method is widely used in the field of separation and purification due to its convenient operation and low cost. Adsorption isotherm model is an important method to understand the adsorption mechanism, which has attracted numerous researchers to continuously model and modify different adsorption systems. This paper collected 13 kinds of commonly used adsorption isotherm models for liquid phase, reviewed their relevant definitions and typical examples of relevant work in the past decade, and classified them according to the uniformity of surface structure and active site distribution when the models were proposed for reference. In addition, the rationale of using the model constants of these models to calculate the thermo- dynamic parameters of the adsorption process and the influence of the dimension of the model equilibrium constant on the calculation of thermodynamic parameters were discussed.
