Preliminary Study on the Application of the Elements of Shaanxi Shadow Play in Clothing Products

The exquisite and unique Shaanxi shadow play art is a typical representative of Shaanxi folk culture. In the era of prevailing Chinese style, Shaanxi shadow play is also included in the ranks of innovation and inheritance. With the character modeling of Shaanxi shadow play as the main body, this paper explored the personality-distinct two-dimensional images, simple and proper hollow forms and strongly contrasting color collocation of Shaanxi shadow play through the literature method, which will make the public understand the symbol characteristics and cultural connotation of Shaanxi shadow play. This work carried out the secondary design of traditional modelling and combined it clothing products, and thus created high-grade, personalized and meaningful fashion products, which activates the era password of Shaanxi shadow play and provides a new paradigm and idea for modern clothing design.
