Abstract
Natural cassia seed pigment was used to dye goat wet white leather. Natural pigment and mordant were extracted from cassia seed and aloe vera, and then used to dye goat leather, followed with the fixation by aluminum salt. The color values (K/S) at different pH environments were measured, and the pH of 4.0 was determined to be reasonable and effective. The color fastness test results of the dyed crust leather proved that the medium dyeing of aloe vera juice could result in good color stability. These results showed that the natural pigment had positive significance for the green production of chromium-free leather.
