Determination of Six Phthalates in Footwear by High Performance Liquid Chromatography

  • A HPLC method was established for the determination of six phthalates in footwear products, and the analytical conditions were optimized. The results showed that the linear range of the method is 10-100 μg/mL, the limit of detection were 1.87-8.92 mg/kg, the recoveries were 90.5%-97.7%, and the relative standard deviations were 3.8%-6.9%. The relative deviations of liquid chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry for the simultaneous determination of six phthalates in samples ranged from 1.6% to 5.4%. The method is suitable for the detection of 6 phthalates in footwear products with no internal standard, short instrumental time, good repeatability and reliable results.
