Abstract
Cycloalkane was used as an oil component, nonionic surfactants (Span-80, Tween-80) and anionic surfactants (sodium petroleum sulfonate) were used respectively as emulsify components to prepare fatliquors STB and TB. The optimal emulsification conditions for different surfactants were determined by the static stability, centrifugal stability, emulsion stability and particle size analysis. The results show that the optimal conditions for non-ionic surfactant emulsion were S/O/W=10∶30∶60 (Oil-in-water emulsion, S: Surfactant, O: Cycloalkane, W: Water, mass ratios), the HLB value was 11.5, and the emulsification time was 1 h, where surfactant in oil method was used. Meanwhile, for anionic surfactant emulsion, the mass ratio of S/O/W (Oil-in-water emulsion) was 12∶28∶60, and the emulsification time was 1 h using surfactant in water method. The prepared naphthenic emulsions were used in the fatliquoring process of wet blue leather, and emulsified liquid paraffin was conducted as comparison. The results show that the leather fatliquored by STB and TB showed good fullness, and their fiber dispersion were significantly better than that of emulsified liquid paraffin. Moreover, the content of dichloromethane extract of STB and TB fatliquored leather were 7.36 % and 6.28 %, and their content of volatile organic compounds were determined to be 49.82 μgC/g and 66.07 μgC/g, respectively, both lower than that of emulsified liquid paraffin.
