Abstract: Traditional poetry elements have great application value in leather goods design, and they are highly compatible with each other. First, designers need to grasp the translation path of poetry culture from three aspects, namely, extraction and transformation of design elements, creative design of poetry culture, and realization and improvement of craftsmanship techniques. Second, designers can explore the application methods of traditional poetry elements from multiple perspectives, such as deconstruction and reconstruction, combination of abstraction and concreteness, mapping of color and emotion, extension of space and time, interactive and dynamic design, modular and customizable design, etc. Finally, specific design practice cases have proved the feasibility of applying traditional poetry elements to leather goods. Designers should pay attention to the application prospect of traditional poetry elements in leather goods design and actively explore new design languages to provide consumers with leather goods with cultural connotations and artistic value.
