Abstract: The structure of Miao women's wear in southeastern Guizhou Province contains the artistic features of creation of "investigate the nature of things in order to acquire knowledge" in the unique geographical and cultural environment of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture. In the innovative design exploration of leather and fur garments, this paper collected and recorded the data of Miao women's wear in southeastern Guizhou Province through field investigation, carried out a comprehensive analysis in terms of social background, appearance, craft, structure and morphological characteristics, dissected its structure modeling characteristic, summarized its clothing structure and dress shaping law, and sumed up the design application principle of its structure characteristics in leather and fur garments. Through using its structure forming method, dress forming method and impressionistic forming method and combining with the fashion elements of modern leather and fur garments, this paper conducted the practice of innovative design in structure so as to excavate diversified approaches for inheriting Miao costume culture in southeastern Guizhou Province, and provided new space shaping design ideas for the structure shaping of leather and fur garments.
