Abstract:
From the perspective of sustainability and inspired by the production principle of food fruit peel, the vegetarian waste such as fruit peel produced in daily life was treated in physical and chemical ways to produce biodegradable vegetable "leather-like" composites. By modulating the formula and production process, this kind of vegetable "leather-like" materials can meet the basic requirements for making fashion accessories in terms of thickness, appearance, and strength. Although plant-based composites still cannot compare to genuine leather in many aspects at this stage, their environmental friendliness, biodegradability, and performance modification have improved the possibility of enriching "leather-like" materials to a certain extent.
