Abstract: Fengxiang dyeing is a unique printing and dyeing handicraft originating from Buyi nationality in Qiannan. It is an artistic carrier of the life and culture of Buyi nationality. In this work, we traced the historical origin of Fengxiang dyeing, analyzed its technical characteristics, summarized its pattern theme, modeling characteristics, composition form, color characteristics and ideological implication, and further obtained the artistic rules of Fengxiang dyeing process. Based on this, we conducted leather dyeing experiments and pattern reconstruction, and in the way of pattern application and dyeing process application, Fengxiang dyeing was innovatively applied in the design of leather goods. This work explored the diversified ways for the diversified inheritance of Fengxiang dyeing, and provided a new reference for the integrated design of leather goods and ethnic elements.
