Abstract:
Short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) have been widely used in leather and related products because of its good properties and low cost. However, in recently yeas, SCCPs have caused much concern as they possess the characteristics of typical persistent organic pollutants (POPs). In this paper, the sources and toxicity of SCCPs in leather and related products were analyzed, and the restrictions on SCCPs at home and abroad were summarized. In addition, the coping strategies for China leather industry and related administration department are proposed.
