Abstract: The characteristics and main uses of leather fabric are summarized in this paper.From the special properties of leather fabric, the limitations of leather fabric in clothing layout and cutting, design and production are expounded.This paper summarizes the innovative reconstruction methods of leather fabrics in clothing design, and analyzes the process requirements and technical difficulties of these reconstruction methods by using the current novel design cases.The design and application of some fabric reconstruction methods were carried out.In the end, the trend of leather garment reconstruction and application is prospected, and the ideas for leather garment design are provided.
