Abstract: Under the strategic background of "innovation and entrepreneurship " and " vigorously developing cultural and creative industries", this paper analyzed the shortage of the cultivation of leather product design student in colleges. Then according to the innovative training goals and cultivate advantages of leather product design students, the article put forward and discussed the reformed suggestions from training system, curriculum model, teachers and teaching methods, practice and guarantee system. Finally, the ecological system of cultivating innovative talents for leather product design was reconstructed.
