Abstract:
The leather scrap plywood (LSP) was prepared by hot pressing method. During processing, the abandoned cow leather shavings after chrome tanning were used as raw materials, the natural high ammonia latex 60% DRC(HA) was used as adhesive. Further, the effect of ball mill grinding for leather shavings on the strength of LSP was studied. The study founded the e-ball, c-ball and i-ball methods of one-way turning had different degrees of damage to the internal fiber structure of the leather shavings. The 6-ball, 3-ball and 9-ballmethods of two -ways turning seriously damaged the collagen fibers of leather shavings. When the number of balls, the speed and the time kept the same, one-way and two-way turning were used, respectively, the "floc" of leather shavings crushed by the 2-ball method was more finely divided, the color was lighter, and the fiber was destroyed more than the b-ball method. The 4-ball, 5-ball, 6-ball, 8-ball methods had the same result. When the leather shavings size was smaller, the tensile strength and elongation at break of LSP would be increased. There was no correlation between the collapse strength of LSP and the way of crushing method and the shape of the shavings. When the size of the shavings was bigger, the effect was to increase the rupture height of LSP.
