Abstract: The development and application of biomass-based“liquid mulching film”（LMF）are key to the sustainable development of the agriculture industry. In this paper, the effects of biomass -based LMF on soil heat preservation, moisture retention and adhesion have been reported in brief, and the research situations of biomass-based (such as protein, chitosan, alginic acid and so on) LMF have been summarized. Some problems of biomass -based LMF have been discussed, and the development tendency of degradable biomass-based “liquid mulching film”also has been prospected.
