Abstract: In the process of wearing shoes and boots, comfortableness is very important in shoes evaluation. In addition, they are usually divided into two methods which are subjective and objective. To our knowledge, there is no research to systematically review and analyze the subjective comfort evaluation methods which are commonly used in the literature. In this study, we searched literatures from Chinese databases such as CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP, and English databases such as Web of Science, PubMed, Sciencedirect, etc., and then summarized the evaluation methods and the content of subjective comfort evaluation methods. An in-depth analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the comfort evaluation method provides a reference or establishing a systematic subjective comfort evaluation system of footwear and formulating footwear comfort evaluation standards.
