Abstract: The application and development of peony in different periods of Chinese history from the aspects of artistic designing and cultural implication are briefly introduced. Furthermore, the deformed methods of peony in the designing of women's dress shoes, such as simplification, abstraction and realism are discussed. In the aspects of dot, line, area and bulk, the expression techniques of peony as configuration elements in the design of women's dress shoes are expounded. Finally, the decorative techniques of peony in the design of women's dress shoes are introduced from the aspects of monk stitching, embossing, printing, embroidery, hollowing-out and pinching wrinkle.
