Abstract:
The pH buffering performance, lime settling speed and deliming efficiency were investigated through titration, lime settling and cattle hide deliming experiments,by comparing citric acid, oxalic acid, lactic acid, boric acid and non-ammonia deliming agent C with ammonium sulfate. The results indicate that the buffer properties of organic acid and ammonium sulfate were obviously different. The combination speed of citric acid and oxalic acid with lime is faster, however non-ammonia deliming agent C has a pH buffer action extent and lime settling speed comparable to ammonium sulfate. The pH curves show that the deliming efficiency of boric acid and non ammonia deliming agent C is approximation to that of ammonium sulfate. Incision examinations turn out that the deliming penetration rate of deliming agent C was faster than boric acid, and slightly slower than ammonium sulfate.
