Abstract: Based on of the leather garment pop culture and it`s historical origin in the 20th century of the west, this paper analyzes the popularity of leather clothing from the angle of social, cultural and fashion history. As a unique fashion phenomenon in the history of western clothing in the 20th century, leather clothing popularity is deeply influenced by politics, economy, culture and lifestyle, and its historical roots are worth exploring. The research shows that the popular culture of leather clothing originated from military uniform at the beginning of the 20th century, and the image of American western cowboy increased the symbolism of adventure and strong.
