Abstract:
Objective Based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this study investigates the influence mechanism of artificial intelligence (AI) application on the professional creativity of leather product designers, and constructed a theoretical model of "AI application - technology perception - professional creativity".
Methods Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness were introduced as mediating variables. Based on the Williams creativity theory, professional creativity was divided into four dimensions: curiosity, imagination, risk-taking, and challenge. Data were collected from leather product designers via a structured questionnaire and empirically tested using Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling.
Results AI application exerted a significant positive influence on all four dimensions of professional creativity. Both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness played significant mediating roles in the dimensions of curiosity, imagination, and challenge. Regarding the risk-taking dimension, only perceived ease of use served as a significant mediator, whereas the impact of perceived usefulness was not statistically significant.
Conclusion This study reveals the intrinsic link between technology cognition and design creativity in the context of AI. It provides theoretical grounds and practical references for the leather industry in promoting digital design, establishing AI training systems, and enhancing the innovation capabilities of design teams.
