Abstract:
HOFFEN company’s finishing materials were used to investigate the effects of different finishing processes on the physical properties of calfskin sofa leather, including heavy-pressure finishing, light-pressure finishing, water-based film leather finishing and full-grain finishing. The finishing materials provided by Xuzhou HOFFEN were used to finish the dyed and fat-liquored calfskin crust leather, and the physical and chemical properties of the finished sofa leather were tested. The test results indicated that all the finishing methods exhibited a light fastness rating of ≥5 and a crock fastness rating of 5. The water fastness rates were 4–5 for heavy-press finishing, light-press finishing, and water-based veneer leather, while the full-grain finishing yielded a rating of 3. Additionally, all the bending resistances and tearing strength met the standard requirements. The chemical performance tests confirmed that all the samples met the requirements of the relevant standards on the limitation of chemical substances, ensuring they are safe and harmless to the human body. The water-based film finishing was relatively poor in physical properties, while the heavy- and light-pressure finishings had better abrasion fastness.
