Abstract: "Digital-real economy integration" is an engine of high-quality economic development. As the pillar of light industry, the development of leather industry is related to the national economy and people's livelihood. By defining the core concept of "digital-real economy integration", this paper constructed the index system of digital economy and real economy, measured the index of "digital-real economy integration" using the entropy weight method, and combined the China Light Industry Leather Prosperity Index to explore whether the index of "digital-real economy integration" empowers the high-quality development of leather industry through the panel regression model and the mediating effect model. The results show that: (1) "Digital-real economy integration" empowers the high-quality development of leather industry; (2) Technological innovation plays a mediating role in the empowerment process of "digital-real economy integration"; (3) There are significant differences in the enabling effects of "digital-real economy integration" in the leather industry among the eastern, central, and western regions.
