Abstract: In order to promote the better combination of traditional national art elements with modern leather goods, the inheritance and innovation ideas and design strategies of Maonan brocade intangible cultural heritage were discussed from the perspective of pattern design. Through literature combing, the Maonan brocade pattern atlas was constructed, and the Technique for orderpreference by similarity to anideal solution was used to select the initial figures of the representative patterns as the core elements, and the new pattern map groups were evolved and reconstructed with the help of shape grammar. Combining with the needs of modern female consumers, innovative patterns and women's handbags were organically integrated to form products with modern ethnic style. This work achieves the purpose of enriching the connotation of Maonan brocade art design and broadening the communication channels of intangible cultural heritage, to provide a reference for modern innovation in leather goods.
